🏞️ Park Alerts: Hazard Burns & Animal Control Near Armidale
Visitors to the stunning Oxley Wild Rivers National Park, a popular destination for Armidale locals, are advised of significant closures impacting several key areas.
Halls Peak campground and picnic areas are currently closed to the public from Monday, 18 August 2025, until 2:00 PM on Monday, 25 August 2025. This closure is a result of hazardous road conditions and inclement weather, ensuring the safety of all park-goers.
Furthermore, Budds Mare campground and picnic area, along with Riverside campground and picnic area, will be inaccessible from 2:00 PM on Sunday, 27 April, until 2:00 PM on Friday, 5 September 2025. These extended closures are necessary to facilitate major track works along the Riverside Trail. Vehicle access is strictly prohibited on the Riverside Trail during this period, and the hiking path between Budds Mare and Riverside campground is also closed.
