🚗 Bega Landslip Repairs: Roads Reopened After Major Work
A planning proposal for a significant land release in Bega is currently under assessment by the Bega Valley Council and the Department of Planning.
The proposal seeks to rezone approximately 279 hectares of land, currently zoned for rural, rural residential, or productivity support uses, into a mix of low-density residential, rural residential, commercial, and public open space zones.
If approved, the plan could facilitate the creation of around 2,200 new residential lots through future development applications. The proposal aligns with the recommendations of the adopted Bega Structure Plan, with some minor adjustments.
The planning proposal is identified as PP-2025-945 and is currently in the 'Adequacy Assessment' stage. The review commenced on May 28, 2025.
