🍜 Drummoyne Restaurant Slapped with $3,520 Food Safety Fines

A local Drummoyne establishment, Panda AT, located at Shop 146B, 19 Roseby Street, has been issued significant penalties totalling $3,520 by the City of Canada Bay Council for various breaches of the Food Standards Code.

The penalty notices, issued on July 1, 2025, stem from alleged offences on June 23, 2025, where the eatery was found to be non-compliant in several critical areas of food safety and hygiene. Each of the four separate infringements incurred an $880 fine, and it has been noted that previous warnings were given for these issues.

Food Safety Breaches Identified

  • Failure to maintain cleanliness: The business failed to keep all fixtures, fittings, and equipment to the required standard of cleanliness.

  • Inadequate handwashing facilities (soap): There was a failure to maintain a supply of soap at or near handwashing facilities.

  • Inadequate handwashing facilities (drying): The premises also failed to provide single-use towels or other effective means of drying hands at handwashing facilities.

  • Improper food storage: Food was not stored in a manner that protected it from the likelihood of contamination.

The penalties underscore the ongoing commitment of local authorities and the NSW Food Authority to ensure high standards of food safety are upheld across Drummoyne and the wider City of Canada Bay area, protecting public health.
