A multi-vehicle crash has brought traffic to a crawl on Roberts Road at the intersection of Wiley Avenue in Greenacre, with emergency services, Transport for NSW, and tow truck operators currently on site.

Motorists are being urged to exercise extreme caution and anticipate significant delays through the area. The incident, involving multiple vehicles, occurred on this state road, which is known for its heavy traffic volume.

Roberts Road is a vital urban arterial route, forming part of the A3 corridor that connects various southern Sydney suburbs. To manage the substantial traffic, particularly during peak periods, the road operates with extended weekday clearways from 6 am to 7 pm and weekend/public holiday clearways from 9 am to 6 pm. The intersection with Wiley Avenue has been a point of focus for road safety, with a red-light speed camera installed and operational since June 3, 2022, specifically to address red-light running and speeding offences. Data from Transport for NSW highlighted that between 2016 and 2020, this particular intersection saw twelve crashes, resulting in twelve injuries, five of which were serious.

Drivers travelling through Greenacre are advised to check real-time traffic updates via Live Traffic NSW before commencing their journeys.
