Commuters in Gosford should prepare for significant disruptions to Central Coast & Newcastle Line train services this coming weekend, from Friday, July 18, to Sunday, July 20. Transport for NSW has advised that these changes are due to essential track maintenance.

Throughout various periods over the weekend, particularly during late Friday and Saturday evenings, as well as early Saturday and Sunday mornings, trains operating on the Central Coast & Newcastle Line will only run between their respective stations and Strathfield. During these times, replacement bus services will be in operation between Strathfield and Central Station.

Passengers travelling from Gosford will need to change at Strathfield for express buses to Central, or for metro services to the city, commuters can interchange at Epping.

Daytime services on Saturday (6am to 5:30pm) and Sunday (6am to 9:40pm) will see trains running between Central Coast & Newcastle Line stations and Central, though a changed timetable will be in effect, so travellers should check their schedules.

Additionally, on Saturday morning from 7am to 10:30am, trains heading towards Hornsby will bypass Cowan station. Buses will be provided from Hawkesbury River to Cowan, and from Cowan to Berowra, for those needing to access these stops. Importantly, trains travelling towards Gosford will continue to stop at Cowan.

On Sunday morning, between 6:40am and 11am, all trains departing Cowan will do so from Platform 1, and some services will be replaced by buses, with a modified timetable and stopping pattern in place.

Gosford residents planning to use public transport this weekend are strongly advised to consult real-time transport apps and websites for the latest updates before commencing their journeys, and to allow extra travel time.
