MERRYLANDS โ Commuters in Merrylands faced disruptions late this evening after a truck breakdown on Woodville Road caused the closure of a northbound lane. The incident, reported by Transport for NSW, occurred near Louis Street, impacting traffic flow in the bustling suburb.
The breakdown, classified as an unplanned incident, led to the closure of Lane 1 of three northbound lanes on the state road. Motorists were advised to exercise caution and prepare to merge as authorities worked to clear the scene. Transport for NSW personnel were on site managing the situation.
Woodville Road is a critical north-south arterial route within Cumberland City, connecting major centres like Parramatta and Liverpool, and is currently undergoing significant urban renewal plans. Its strategic importance means that even minor incidents can have a ripple effect on local traffic conditions. The road corridor is identified for revitalisation and is a key link for diverse communities in the area.
