π₯ Truck Fire Contained Near Boothenba
Two men are facing court today following a police pursuit that began in Dubbo yesterday. Officers from the Western Region Domestic Violence High Risk Offender Team (DVHROT) attempted to stop a blue Holden Cruze for a random breath test on Argyle Avenue. When the vehicle failed to stop, a pursuit ensued.
The chase continued along the Mitchell Highway towards Wellington, eventually ending on Canobola Road. One passenger fled on foot but was apprehended after a short chase. The driver was also arrested after a struggle.
A 42-year-old man was charged with several offences, including dangerous driving during a police pursuit, driving with a cancelled license, and resisting arrest. A 34-year-old passenger was arrested on an outstanding warrant for property and firearm-related offences.
Both men were refused bail and will appear in Dubbo Local Court today.
Other assisting agencies included officers from Orana Mid-Western Police District, Operational Support Group (OSG), and Traffic and Highway Patrol Command.
