Safety Alert: Bingi Dreaming Track
Walkers planning to traverse the Bingi Dreaming track should be aware that it crosses several Intermittently Closed and Open Coastal Lakes and Lagoons (ICOLLS). The opening and closing of these waterways can be unpredictable, often rendering sections of the track impassable for periods of weeks. Hikers are particularly advised to check the status ofCoila Lake, located at the southern end of the track, before commencing their journey, as an open lake can prevent access to Tuross village and completion of the walk.
For further information on any of these alerts, contact the NPWS Narooma area office on 02 4476 0800 or the NPWS Merimbula area office on 02 6495 5000 for baiting program specifics. Penalties apply for non-compliance with park directives.
