A two-car crash has caused significant traffic disruptions on Longueville Road in Lane Cove this morning, with emergency services currently on the scene. The incident, which occurred near the intersection with Kimberley Avenue, has resulted in the closure of two westbound lanes.
Transport for NSW has advised motorists to exercise extreme caution and reduce their speed when travelling through the area. Lanes 1 and 2 westbound are currently impacted, out of three lanes, causing immediate congestion for commuters in Lane Cove. Emergency services are attending to the incident.
Longueville Road is a key arterial route through Lane Cove and has been the focus of recent traffic management efforts. The Lane Cove Council initiated upgrades on sections of Longueville Road, including milling and re-sheeting, as recently as mid-2024, to improve road surfaces and manage traffic flow. This area has also experienced previous incidents; in April 2024, multiple pedestrian accidents on Longueville Road in Lane Cove North led to major traffic delays, highlighting the road's susceptibility to congestion and the importance of driver vigilance.
Motorists are encouraged to allow extra travel time and consider alternative routes if possible. Updates on road re-openings will be provided as the situation unfolds.
