🌧️ Foxes Lane in Moree Closed Due to Wet Weather
A 20-year-old man is set to appear in court today following his arrest in Moree yesterday in connection with an alleged aggravated break-in and assault.
Police were called to two separate incidents in Moree on Wednesday, 30 July 2025. The first occurred around 1:15pm when a man allegedly attempted to force entry into a home on Auburn Street by kicking the front door. The homeowner confronted him, and the man subsequently fled the scene.
Shortly after, at approximately 1:30pm, the same man allegedly gained forced entry into another residence on Allambie Place. Inside, he is accused of assaulting a woman and a man with a wooden stick before leaving the property on foot. NSW Ambulance paramedics attended the scene to treat the male victim for minor head injuries.
Officers from New England Police District quickly commenced inquiries into the incidents. A short time later, police located and arrested a 20-year-old man at a home on Wales Street in Moree. He was taken to Moree Police Station where he was formally charged.
The man faces charges including aggravated break and enter commit serious indictable offence-inflict actual bodily harm, common assault (DV), and contravene prohibition/restriction in AVO (Domestic). Additionally, he was charged with goods in personal custody suspected of being stolen and dishonestly obtaining property by deception, for unrelated matters. He was refused bail and is scheduled to appear before a Local Bail Division Court today, Thursday, 31 July 2025.
