🚧 Sydney Harbour Tunnel Cleared After Tyre Debris Hazard
A police operation that caused significant disruptions in North Sydney has now concluded, with authorities declaring a suspicious item found on Miller Street to be safe. Emergency services were initially called to the busy North Sydney thoroughfare around 12:25 PM today, following reports of a suspicious noise emanating from a post box.
Officers from the North Shore Police Area Command promptly established a perimeter around the area, leading to earlier bus diversions and altered traffic conditions in North Sydney. Specialist police from the Rescue and Bomb Disposal Unit were deployed to examine the item. Following their assessment, the item was declared safe.
With the item no longer posing a risk, the police perimeter has been lifted, and normal traffic conditions are expected to resume. There is no ongoing safety risk to the public in North Sydney as a result of this incident.
