🚆 Parramatta Train Delays Continue Due to Operational Issue
A 33-year-old Riverwood man has been charged by Sex Crimes Squad detectives in connection with alleged child grooming. The man was arrested after an extensive investigation by Strike Force Trawler, which focuses on the sexual abuse and exploitation of children through online platforms.
In June 2025, detectives initiated inquiries into the man's online activities. Officers, adopting the online persona of a young girl, engaged with the man, who allegedly made several sexually explicit comments. This interaction reportedly led to arrangements for a meeting in the Riverwood area.
The arrest took place around 9:10 AM yesterday (Thursday, 3 July 2025) in Riverwood. The man was subsequently taken to St George Police Station, where he faced seven charges of using a carriage service to send indecent material to a person under 16, and one charge of using a carriage service to groom a person under 16 for sex with another.
He was refused bail and appeared before Parramatta Local Court today (Friday, 4 July 2025).
