Six teenagers have been taken to hospital following a car crash in Woodberry, near Raymond Terrace, early this morning. The incident occurred after a brief police pursuit involving a stolen vehicle in the Port Stephens-Hunter region.

Around 4am on Wednesday, June 25, 2025, police were called to a unit on Molly Morgan Drive in East Maitland following reports of a break and enter. Upon arrival, officers were informed that a black Honda Jazz had been stolen from the property a short time earlier.

Just 15 minutes later, at approximately 4.15am, officers patrolling Woodberry Road at Millers Forest sighted the stolen Honda. When the driver allegedly failed to stop as directed, a pursuit was initiated. The chase was brief, lasting less than a minute before the car veered off the road and crashed at Woodberry, approximately 5km north of Hexham.

Police immediately provided assistance to the six occupants of the vehicle. These included four boys, aged 14, 16, and two 15-year-olds, along with two girls, aged 14 and 15. All six were transported by NSW Ambulance paramedics to John Hunter Hospital for assessment.

Authorities have confirmed that their injuries are not considered life-threatening. A crime scene was established at the crash site and has been thoroughly processed by the Crash Investigation Unit. Inquiries into the incident are continuing, led by Port Stephens-Hunter Police, with assistance from Operation Soteria.
