Randwick residents are invited to a special 'NAIDOC in the Park' event on Saturday, July 13, 2025, from 3:00 PM onwards at Loch Avenue South, Centennial Park. This meaningful afternoon of connection, culture, and storytelling aims to celebrate 50 years of embracing First Nations voices.

Presented in partnership with Waverley and Randwick councils, the event will commence with a Welcome to Country ceremony by Gujaga Foundation. Attendees can then immerse themselves in a rich program of activities.

Event Highlights:

  • Wagana Dance Group Performance: Witness mesmerizing First Nations Dancers.
  • Aboriginal Dance Workshops: Participate in an inclusive workshop led by Gujaga Foundation.
  • Cultural Workshops: Engage in traditional weaving and listen to captivating stories from First Nations storyteller Aunty Ali Golding.
  • Bush to Bowl Demonstration: Discover native ingredients and traditional cooking techniques.
  • Food and Refreshments: Enjoy delicious food from the Koori Kulcha Food Truck.

As evening falls, the festivities will conclude with a magical Spotlight Prowl, a nature walk guided by educators from Centennial Parklands. The event welcomes all ages to share in the spirit of NAIDOC Week, and well-behaved dogs on leads are also welcome. Admission is free for First Nations people.
