Commuters in North Ryde experienced disruptions yesterday following a multi-vehicle crash on Delhi Road, directly above the M2 Motorway. The incident, which has since been cleared, temporarily impacted traffic flow on this vital arterial route.

According to reports from Transport for NSW, the collision necessitated the closure of Lane 1 for eastbound traffic and a right-turn lane for westbound motorists. Emergency services and Transport for NSW personnel were on site to manage the incident and ensure safety. Drivers were advised to reduce speed and prepare to merge while the scene was active.

Delhi Road is a critical transport corridor for North Ryde, serving as a key link to the M2 Motorway and facilitating movement for thousands of commuters daily. Its connection to the M2 makes it a consistently busy stretch of road, often experiencing heavy traffic, particularly during peak hours.

This area has seen significant infrastructure investment aimed at improving traffic efficiency. Notably, a $15 million widening and upgrade project on Delhi Road, between the Hills M2 and Lane Cove National Park, was completed by Ward Group on behalf of Landcom. This project added a new 950-metre eastbound lane, specifically designed to ease congestion and accommodate growth from developments such as Lachlan's Line. The prompt response and clearance of this latest incident highlight the ongoing efforts by authorities to maintain flow and safety on North Ryde's busy roads.
