🏥 Milton Ulladulla Hospital Boosted by $7.5m Upgrade
Visitors and residents planning to explore Murramarang National Park, a popular natural attraction for those in Ulladulla, are advised of several important safety alerts and a significant campground closure.
Recent severe weather has led to the exposure of asbestos fibro along the foreshore of the Durras Lake North boat launching area. Authorities have acted swiftly, fencing off the affected zone and bagging visible asbestos. A licensed asbestos removal team is scheduled to conduct a thorough clean-up operation.
The Murramarang South Coast Walk and several other tracks within the park have sustained heavy damage from recent storms and sea conditions. Walkers should be extremely cautious as many sections, particularly beach access points and rock crossings, are now steep, slippery, and unstable. Key affected tracks include Acheron Ledge, Dark Beach, Durras Mountain Loop, Myrtle Beach, Burrawang, Point Upright lookout, Richmond Beach, Snake Bay, Honeysuckle Beach, Maloneys Beach to South Durras, Oaky Beach, Pretty Beach to Pebbly Beach, and Wasp Head walk.
Depot Beach campground has been temporarily closed for essential maintenance work. The closure is expected to last until Tuesday, 30 September 2025. However, the Depot Beach cabins will remain open for bookings during this period. For further information or to report additional issues, please contact the local NPWS office.
