Millers Point residents and commuters should be aware of significant scheduled roadwork set to impact the Sydney Harbour Bridge and surrounding approaches this Thursday evening, with resurfacing operations expected to cause disruptions.

Transport for NSW has advised that from 10:30pm on Thursday, the Cahill Expressway northbound approach to the Sydney Harbour Bridge will be closed. Motorists usually using this route will need to consider diverting via the Sydney Harbour Tunnel or travelling through the city to access the bridge.

Further closures will commence from 11:30pm, with up to three of the four northbound lanes across the Sydney Harbour Bridge being shut. Additionally, eastbound drivers on the Western Distributor aiming for the bridge will be diverted through King Street and Clarence Street.

A reduced speed limit of 40 km/h will be in place around the work zones. Those travelling from or through Millers Point who plan to use the Sydney Harbour Bridge northbound during these hours are strongly advised to plan their journey in advance and allow for extra travel time. The Sydney Harbour Tunnel is suggested as a primary alternative route to minimise delays.
