🏍️ Rider Critically Injured in Villawood Motorcycle Blaze
Detectives from Taskforce Falcon are investigating potential links between a shooting incident in Auburn yesterday and three vehicles subsequently found burnt out across the Sydney metropolitan area.
Emergency services were called to a kebab shop on South Parade in Auburn around 1:15pm on Monday, 16 June 2025, following reports of a shooting. Two men, whose faces were covered, allegedly entered the premises and fired eight shots before fleeing in a black Audi Q7, which was bearing cloned numberplates.
NSW Ambulance paramedics treated three individuals for gunshot wounds at the scene. A 26-year-old man sustained injuries to his shoulder and arm, while a 47-year-old woman was shot twice in the torso. A 25-year-old man received a gunshot wound to the face. The 26-year-old man and the 47-year-old woman are reported to be in a stable condition, while the 25-year-old man remains in a serious condition in hospital.
A crime scene was established in Auburn, and the investigation was quickly escalated to Taskforce Falcon, operating under Strike Force Caljie. Taskforce Falcon, led by the State Crime Command in collaboration with the NSW Crime Commission, is dedicated to investigating and suppressing violent crime across Sydney.
In the hours following the Auburn shooting, three vehicles were discovered burnt out in separate locations: Wigram Street in Harris Park, Hilltop Road in Merrylands, and Gerald Street in Greystanes. Crime scenes have been established at all three sites, with Taskforce Falcon officers assisting with the ongoing inquiries. Police are actively examining whether these vehicle fires are connected to the brazen Auburn shooting.
