Sydney’s road network is set for significant improvements with two major infrastructure projects progressing to alleviate congestion and enhance connectivity, particularly in the city’s western and northern regions.
Work has begun on a crucial upgrade to the intersection ofPennant Hills Road and North Rocks Road in Carlingford
Commencing in August 2024, the upgrade is anticipated to take approximately two and a half years. Ward Civil and Environmental Engineering Pty Ltd was awarded the contract in June 2024. The scope of work includes widening Pennant Hills Road between Woodstock Avenue and Murray Farm Road, as well as North Rocks Road at its intersection with Pennant Hills Road, to introduce additional through lanes in each direction. This expansion is expected to ease the heavy congestion currently experienced by motorists.
Meanwhile, significant progress continues on the newM12 Motorway in Western Sydney
Recent project notifications indicate ongoing work, including out-of-hours activities along Elizabeth Drive and Luddenham Road in Badgerys Creek. Various consistency assessments and project documents have been released, detailing aspects such as the M7 widening, M7-M12 integration, and adjustments to existing infrastructure, all contributing to the development of this key transport link for the region.
