PoliceNsw Police 1 min read

A major police operation in Sydney's Central Business District wrapped up peacefully on Saturday, September 13, 2025, following a day of multiple planned assemblies. Hundreds of officers were deployed across the city in a highly visible presence, focused on ensuring the safety of both participants and the wider Sydney community, including local businesses.

Specialist units were integral to the operation, featuring personnel from the Police Transport Command, Traffic and Highway Patrol Command, Public Order and Riot Squad, Operations Support Group, Mounted Unit, Dog Unit, and PolAir.

During the day, one 50-year-old man was arrested at Hyde Park for breach of the peace and escorted from the area. Additionally, a drone operator received a warning for flying in a restricted zone. NSW Ambulance paramedics treated two individuals for minor issues, with no serious injuries reported.

Following the conclusion of the assemblies and the police operation, all temporary road closures that were in effect throughout Sydney CBD have since been reopened, restoring normal traffic flow.
