💙 Sydney Opera House Lights Up for Police Legacy Day

On Tuesday, June 17, Sydney will mark the inaugural National Police Legacy Day, a new tradition established to recognise and support the eight Police Legacy charities around Australia. This significant day aims to provide long-term, life-changing care to the families of police officers lost in the line of duty.

The NSW Police Legacy extends its deepest condolences to the Tasmanian Police Force following the recent tragic death of an officer while performing duties. This loss underscores the extraordinary burden faced by police officers daily and the immense pain experienced by their families.

In a poignant tribute, the sails of the Sydney Opera House will be illuminated tonight with the Michaelmas Daisy, the symbol of National Police Legacy Day. The Michaelmas Daisy is the flower of St Michael, the Patron Saint of Police, serving as a powerful reminder of the challenges, courage, and vitality of police and their legatees nationwide.
