Police in Sydney's south-west have arrested a teenager and seized a firearm following a stolen car incident in Revesby this morning. The arrest comes as inquiries continue into a brazen event that unfolded in Flood Avenue.

Officers from Bankstown Police Area Command were initially called to Flood Avenue, Revesby, around 5:40 am on Wednesday, 18 June 2025. They discovered a stolen SUV had collided with a tree, with the occupants fleeing the scene. A crime scene was established as investigations began.

Later the same morning, about 8:40 am, police returned to Flood Avenue after reports of suspicious activity. Upon arrival, officers observed a group of youths running from a parked Toyota Corolla, believed to have been stolen from Riverstone, and entering a nearby home.

With the assistance of PolAir and the Dog Unit, police tracked the individuals, leading to the arrest of a 15-year-old boy. He was subsequently taken to Bankstown Police Station. During the arrest, authorities also located and seized a rifle from the residence.

Investigators from Strike Force Sweetenham are continuing their inquiries and are keen to speak with another teenage boy who was seen in the area at the time of the incident. He is described as being of Maori/Pacific Islander appearance and was last seen wearing a black hooded jumper and black pants.
