🚨 Car Breakdown Snarls Cahill Expressway in Sydney
An investigation is now underway following a serious head-on collision that occurred in Blakehurst, a suburb in Sydney's south, earlier today, leaving three people injured.
Emergency services were called to the Princes Highway, just north of Tom Uglys Bridge, around 2:30 PM on Saturday, 5 July 2025, after reports of a crash. Officers from St George Police Area Command arrived at the scene to find a Mazda sedan and a Lexus SUV had collided.
The driver and sole occupant of the Mazda, an 87-year-old woman, was trapped inside her vehicle and required extrication by Fire and Rescue NSW. She was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics for serious leg injuries. The driver of the Lexus, a 44-year-old man, and his 13-year-old male passenger, were also treated at the scene before being transported to St George Hospital, both in a stable condition.
A crime scene has been established at the location, and police are continuing their inquiries into the circumstances surrounding the incident. Authorities are urging anyone who witnessed the crash or possesses relevant dashcam footage to come forward and contact Crime Stoppers.
