🚨 Brawl Update: Two in Custody After Castle Hill Works
A 58-year-old man is set to face court today following an alleged assault on a senior police officer and two other officers in Castle Hill.
The incident unfolded in the early hours of Saturday, 24 May 2025, when police were called to a property on Crane Road, Castle Hill, responding to reports of a car being driven dangerously on the premises.
Upon arrival, a Chief Inspector from The Hills Police Area Command found a vehicle on a footpath and instructed the driver to stop. It is alleged that the driver, a 58-year-old man, exited the car, and as the officer attempted to arrest him, the man allegedly punched the officer in the face, wrestled him to the ground, and then placed him in a chokehold.
During the struggle, two additional officers arrived to provide assistance, with one also allegedly assaulted while attempting to apprehend the man. The accused was taken to Castle Hill Police Station before being transported to Westmead Hospital for treatment.
After receiving medical attention, the 58-year-old was returned to Castle Hill Police Station. He has been charged with two counts of assault police officer in execution of duty causing actual bodily harm, hinder or resist a police officer in the execution of duty, and destroy or damage property. He was refused bail and is scheduled to appear before Parramatta Local Court today.
