Powerhouse Materials: Textiles Exhibition Coming to Castle Hill

Get ready, Castle Hill! A unique textile exhibition is coming to town. Curated by Chloe Hayden, "Powerhouse Materials: Textiles" will showcase a fascinating collection from the Powerhouse Museum, featuring everything from a robot bull to boots worn by renowned costume designer Catherine Martin.

The exhibition explores themes of horses, country life, and fashion, highlighting the importance of diversity. Beyond Chloe's curated selection, visitors can also explore the Powerhouse's extensive collection of sewing machinery, embroidery, knitting, dyeing, weaving, and patchwork.

A free, self-guided program will help visitors journey through the objects and their stories, even encouraging them to create their own textile work! This is the first in a new series; the next exhibition, "Powerhouse Materials: Paper," curated by Andy Griffiths, is planned for November 2025.
