Media ReleaseMedical Health Aged Care, Women 2 min read

North Bondi is set to host a crucial health awareness event this October as the Breast Cancer Network Australia (BCNA) brings its powerful new 'Know Yourself. Feel Yourself.' campaign to our shores. The initiative, aimed at promoting early detection through self-examination, will officially launch on Thursday, 9th October 2025, at the North Bondi Surf Life Saving Club forecourt.

Locals are encouraged to engage with the campaign, which reframes the daily habit of looking in the mirror into a potentially life-saving action. BCNA CEO Kirsten Pilatti will be present for the launch, alongside women with lived experience of breast cancer.

Event Highlights at North Bondi:

  • At 8:45am, women affected by breast cancer will lead a public ocean dip at iconic Bondi Beach, donning pink swimsuits in a poignant display of solidarity.
  • From 11:00am onwards, private Breast Check Booths will be open to the public. These pop-up spaces feature an educational video produced by BCNA, guiding individuals through a step-by-step breast self-check process.

BCNA, established in 1998, is Australia's leading breast cancer consumer organisation, representing over 250,000 individuals nationally. The organisation is dedicated to advocating for, connecting, supporting, and informing those affected by breast cancer, ensuring access to vital care, treatment, and support across all communities, including our own in North Bondi.

This event offers a vital opportunity for North Bondi residents to learn more about breast health and the importance of regular self-checks, contributing to earlier diagnosis and better outcomes.
