🏍️ Fatal Motorcycle Crash Closes Helensburgh Highway

A tragic incident has occurred in Helensburgh, with a man confirmed deceased following a two-vehicle collision on the Old Princes Highway. Emergency services were called to the scene around 1pm on Saturday, May 31, 2025, after reports of a motorcycle and a ute colliding.

The rider of the motorcycle, a man believed to be in his 50s, tragically died at the scene. His identity has not yet been formally released. The driver of the ute, a 26-year-old man, was uninjured in the crash and was transported to hospital for mandatory testing.

Authorities have established a crime scene, and officers from the Wollongong Police District, with assistance from the Crash Investigation Unit, have commenced a thorough investigation into the circumstances surrounding the collision. As a result, the Old Princes Highway remains closed in both directions between Helensburgh and Waterfall, and motorists are strongly advised to avoid the area and seek alternative routes.
