🚨 Woman Charged with Murder in Bega Stabbing Investigation

PoliceNsw Police 2 min read

A 19-year-old woman is set to face Bega Local Court tomorrow after being charged with murder, becoming the fourth individual arrested in connection with the fatal stabbing of a man in Bega last month. The significant development comes as detectives continue their intensive investigation under Strike Force Nakstone.

Emergency services were called to East Street, Bega, in the early hours of Monday, October 6, 2025, following reports of a concern for welfare. Upon arrival, officers from the South Coast Police District discovered a 43-year-old man in a park suffering from stab wounds. Despite the efforts of NSW Ambulance paramedics, the man tragically died at the scene. Another man, aged 45, also sustained stab wounds and was transported to the South East Regional Hospital in a stable condition, from which he has since been discharged.

The extensive police operation, assisted by the State Crime Command’s Homicide Squad, has seen multiple search warrants executed across Bega and Bemboka. In late October, a search warrant at a Bega unit led to the seizure of a knife and electronic devices. More recently, last week, the State Emergency Service (SES) aided police in searching the Glebe Wetlands area on East Street, Bega. This significant natural space, known for its environmental importance and as a habitat for a nationally important flying fox camp, was further examined by NSW Police divers earlier this week, with items recovered for forensic analysis.

The breakthrough arrests occurred on Thursday, November 20, when officers simultaneously executed three search warrants at homes in Bega and Bemboka. Three men, aged 29, 32, and 34, were arrested and subsequently charged, and remain before the courts. The 19-year-old woman was also arrested and, after receiving treatment for an unrelated matter at hospital, was taken to Bega Police Station. She has been charged with murder, causing wounding/grievous bodily harm with intent to murder, and possessing an unauthorised prohibited firearm.

Refused bail, the woman is scheduled to appear before Bail Division Court 3 at Bega Local Court on Friday, November 21, 2025. While murder charges are typically escalated to higher courts, the Bega Local Court routinely handles initial appearances and bail applications for serious criminal matters, serving as the first point of contact within the NSW justice system for local cases.

Investigations by Strike Force Nakstone are continuing as police work to piece together the full circumstances surrounding the man's death.
