๐Ÿ‘จโ€โš–๏ธ Sixth Person Charged in Bega Alleged Murder Investigation

Bega is once again in the spotlight following the charging of a sixth person in relation to the alleged murder of a 43-year-old man. Emergency services were called to East Street in Bega in the early hours of Monday, 6 October 2025, after reports of a welfare concern. Officers discovered a man with stab wounds, who tragically died at the scene despite the efforts of NSW Ambulance paramedics. A second man, aged 45, also sustained stab wounds and was taken to South East Regional Hospital in a stable condition, later being released.

The investigation, led by South Coast detectives under Strike Force Nakstone with assistance from the State Crime Command's Homicide Squad, has seen five previous arrests. These include four men, aged 32, 34, 29, and 48, and a 19-year-old woman, all of whom are currently before the courts.

In the latest development, a 44-year-old man was arrested at Nowra Police Station on Wednesday, 10 December 2025. He has been charged with murder and causing grievous bodily harm with intent to murder. The man was refused bail and is scheduled to appear before Bail Division Local Court 3 on Thursday, 11 December 2025. Investigations by Strike Force Nakstone are ongoing.

The Bega Valley Shire Council has previously highlighted community safety initiatives, with the local police district working closely with residents to address concerns. The ongoing investigation underscores the serious nature of the incident and the commitment of law enforcement to bringing those responsible to justice.
