🚨 Police Seek Man Wanted on Warrant, Frequents Merrylands
Detectives from Taskforce Falcon have charged five individuals following an investigation into a public shooting that occurred in Merrylands. The incident took place on Earl Street around 9:20 am on Thursday, June 12, 2025, prompting a response from officers attached to the Cumberland Police Area Command.
At the time of the shooting, the residence was unoccupied, and no injuries were reported. Investigators later discovered a burnt-out Porsche in Chester Hill, believed to be connected to the incident. Three men, aged 20, 22, and 23, were arrested in Yagoona after attempting to flee from the police on foot. They face charges including conspiring to discharge a firearm, property damage by fire, and participation in a criminal group. The 22-year-old also faces a charge related to acquiring a pistol while subject to a firearms prohibition order.
In a related incident, two 17-year-old males were apprehended in Greystanes after allegedly crashing a Ford Territory. Inside the vehicle, authorities found jerry cans containing fuel, bleach, balaclavas, and a knife. The teens face charges such as taking a conveyance without consent, accessory to property damage by fire, and possessing a knife in a public place. One of the teens was also wanted for a home invasion in Ermington.
Taskforce Falcon, in collaboration with the NSW Crime Commission, continues to investigate the shooting and whether the Greystanes crash is linked. Anyone with information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers.
