👮 Police student charged with drink driving in Goulburn

A student at the NSW Police Academy in Goulburn has been charged with mid-range drink driving following an incident early Saturday morning. Security officers at the Academy alerted authorities to damage sustained by a front boom gate. A vehicle was found parked nearby with a 33-year-old police student in the driver's seat.

The student returned a positive result on a roadside breath test and was subsequently arrested and taken to Goulburn Police Station. A secondary analysis allegedly indicated a reading of 0.108. He has been issued a field court attendance notice for driving with a middle-range prescribed concentration of alcohol and his NSW driver's licence has been suspended.

The student is scheduled to appear at Goulburn Local Court on Wednesday, 16 July 2025. The police student has been stood down from duty, and his professional suitability is currently under review.
