🚨 Police Appeal: Missing Man Mitchell McDuff from Lismore
In a significant development following a series of alleged aggravated break and enter incidents at a Lismore shopping centre, two men have been arrested and charged. The arrests were made yesterday afternoon, Wednesday, June 25, 2025, bringing a swift resolution to the investigation.
The alleged break-ins occurred around 5:30 AM yesterday when two individuals reportedly forced their way into the Lismore shopping complex through a smashed window. Several businesses within the centre were targeted, with a quantity of cash, valuable jewellery, and watches reported stolen. Fortunately, no injuries were sustained during the incidents.
Officers from Richmond Police District swiftly responded, establishing multiple crime scenes at the Lismore location. Following extensive inquiries, police located and arrested a 22-year-old man and a 28-year-old man at a caravan park in Byron Bay.
A subsequent search warrant executed at a cabin in the caravan park led to the alleged discovery and seizure of items believed to have been stolen from property offences across Lismore, Ballina, and Byron Bay in recent weeks. Both men were taken to Byron Bay Police Station for questioning.
The younger man faces three counts of aggravated break and enter dwelling etc in company steal. The older man has been charged with nine offences, and an outstanding warrant for alleged traffic and bail offences was also executed against him.
Both individuals were refused bail and were scheduled to appear before Parramatta Local Court today, Thursday, June 26, 2025.
