🚧 Sydney Harbour Tunnel Night Closures Begin for Maintenance

Commuters in Milsons Point and surrounding areas should brace for significant nightly disruptions to traffic flow through the Sydney Harbour Tunnel, as essential maintenance works are set to commence from Thursday.

Transport for NSW has announced that the tunnel will be closed in both directions on designated nights to facilitate these crucial upgrades. The southbound tunnel will be shut from 10:00 PM to 5:00 AM, while the northbound tunnel will close slightly later, from 10:30 PM to 5:00 AM.

Diversions in Place for All Vehicles

Motorists are advised to plan their journeys accordingly and allow for extra travel time. Extensive diversions will be implemented:

  • Vehicles under 19 metres: Will be directed to use the Sydney Harbour Bridge and Cahill Expressway.
  • GML B-doubles 19 metres and over: Should utilise Victoria Road and the Gladesville Bridge as their alternative route.
  • HML B-doubles: Are advised to consult the HML B-double network for specific information regarding their passage.

The scheduled roadwork is vital for maintaining the safety and integrity of this key piece of infrastructure connecting North Sydney to the city. Drivers are urged to follow all signage and instructions from traffic controllers to ensure a smooth flow around the closures.
