The Australian National Maritime Museum in Darling Harbour, a stone's throw from Pyrmont, is set to inspire young minds and families this Spring school holidays with an exciting lineup of activities focused on discovery, creativity, and adventure.

Visitors can explore new exhibitions, including the thought-provoking Ur Wayii (Incoming Tide), and catch the final opportunity to see the acclaimed Wildlife Photographer of the Year before it departs. The museum's program is designed to spark curiosity in children and adults alike.

Hands-On Adventures for All Ages

  • Kids on Deck: Get hands-on in the maker space with artmaking and science experiments, from crafting paper watercraft and clay sculptures to making nightscapes and transforming bottlecaps.
  • Splashing Science Circus: Prepare to be entertained and educated by performing artists and science communicators who will unlock the wonders of water through spectacular demonstrations and daring circus skills.
  • Cultural Workshops: Join Koori Kinnections to learn about traditional Indigenous tools, weapons, and watercraft, or participate in the Weaving Zagal and Paper Florilegium activities inspired by artist Brian Robinson.
  • Digital & Creative Exploration: Older kids can unleash their inner artist with Photography Gel Printing to create wearable art, or become a Whale Song DJ, remixing aquatic sounds and creating animated music videos.

For a more inclusive experience, Sensory Friendly Days are scheduled with modified sound and lighting for visitors with diverse access requirements, offering early or late access to galleries and activity areas.
