A serious motor vehicle accident occurred on the Old Princes Highway in Helensburgh today, resulting in a fatality. The incident, reported around 1 pm, involved a collision between a motorcycle and a ute near Waterfall.

Sadly, the motorcyclist, a man believed to be in his 50s, died at the scene. The ute driver, a 26-year-old male, was unharmed and transported to the hospital for mandatory testing.

Wollongong Police District is investigating, with assistance from the Crash Investigation Unit. The Old Princes Highway remains closed in both directions between Helensburgh and Waterfall, and drivers are urged to seek alternate routes.
