Residents of Helensburgh were alerted to a fire alarm at the Garrawarra Centre on Princes Highway, Waterfall earlier today.
The NSW Rural Fire Service (RFS) responded to the incident, reporting it as ‘under control’ as of 6:34 PM on June 22, 2025.
Initial reports indicated a potential fire, however, the RFS confirmed that no fire was detected. The incident was classified as a fire alarm with a size of 0 hectares.
The Wollongong Council area was notified, and the RFS remains the responsible agency for the incident.
