Geotechnical investigation works are set to begin across parts of Bega, Jellat Jellat, Mogilla, and Verona in the coming weeks, weather permitting. These essential works, spearheaded by the Bega Valley Shire Council, mark the initial stage in a broader project aimed at stabilising and improving local road pavements and surfaces.
Motorists and residents in Bega should prepare for changed traffic conditions, including reduced access to a single lane, with traffic control in place for the duration of the works. On-street parking will also be unavailable during working hours, which are typically from 7:00am to 6:00pm on weekdays. Drivers are advised to allow for extra travel time, expect delays, and pay close attention to all signage.
Upcoming Works in Bega:
- Geotechnical investigations are scheduled for East Street around August 5.
- Works on Tathra Road are anticipated to occur around August 11-12.
- From Tuesday, August 19, to Wednesday, August 20, investigations will be carried out on Bega Street, Upper Street, Auckland Street, and Belmore Street.
These investigations are crucial for the long-term improvement of the region's road network, contributing to safer and more durable surfaces for all road users in Bega and surrounding areas.
