🚨 Search Underway After Car Plunges into River Near Wisemans Ferry

Emergency services have launched a significant search operation near Wisemans Ferry following a car crash that saw a vehicle plunge into the Macdonald River overnight. Two men remain unaccounted for after the incident, which occurred approximately 20 kilometres north of Wisemans Ferry.

The alarming event unfolded around 11:50 PM yesterday, Wednesday, 21 August 2025, when emergency crews were alerted to a car entering the Macdonald River near Settlers Road, St Albans. Officers from Hawkesbury Police Area Command quickly arrived at the scene.

Initial reports indicate that one male passenger, aged in his 20s, managed to exit the vehicle and swim to the riverbank. He was assessed by NSW Ambulance paramedics but fortunately did not require further medical treatment. However, police were informed that two other men were also in the car at the time of the crash and their whereabouts are currently unknown.

The search effort is extensive, involving personnel from the State Emergency Service (SES) and NSW Rural Fire Service (NSW RFS), who are meticulously scouring the area. Local police are appealing to the community for any information that could assist their investigation into the circumstances surrounding this serious incident.
