🚧 Road Closure on McCaffrey Drive, New Lambton Heights

New Lambton Heights residents should be aware of changed traffic conditions due to the Rankin Park to Jesmond section of the Newcastle Inner City Bypass project.

McCaffrey Drive will be closed in both directions between Lookout Road and Marshall Street from 7pm Friday, June 13th, to 5am Monday, June 16th. Lookout Road will also be reduced to one lane in each direction. Detours will be in place.

Motorists should allow approximately 15 minutes of additional travel time.

Detours:

• Northbound: via Lookout Road, Grandview Road, and Elbrook Drive.
• Southbound: via Cardiff Road, Marshall Street, Grandview Road, and Elbrook Drive.

Heavy vehicles with ground contact or overall width greater than 3m should contact the project team at 1800 818 433 at least one day ahead of movement. Freight operators should note that the project operates on UHF channel 52 at the Southern Interchange.

Vehicles traveling under a permit must not travel off the approved route listed in the permit unless an updated permit is obtained from the National Heavy Vehicle Regulator.
