🚸 Wauchope Road Closure for Sewer Upgrades Begins Jan 28

Residents in Wauchope are advised of upcoming disruptions due to essential sewer infrastructure upgrades being carried out by Port Macquarie-Hastings Council. The project, aimed at ensuring the wastewater network remains safe and reliable, will see a temporary road closure impacting Kookaburra Place.

Starting Tuesday, January 28, 2026, a section of the rear access road between Leaders Way and Whipcrack Terrace will be closed to establish a temporary site compound. This closure is necessary for the safe movement of trucks and machinery involved in the Kookaburra Place Sewer Upgrade. The broader construction program is scheduled to run from February 2026 through to May 6, 2026.

During the closure, access to driveways will be maintained, and essential services like waste collection will continue uninterrupted. Waste collection trucks will reverse into the access lane to service properties at 27 and 29 Leaders Way.

The council has advised that nearby residents may experience increased construction activity, including the presence of machinery and trucks. Temporary traffic changes and potential tree removal may also occur. Visitors and residents are urged to follow all site signage and directions from traffic controllers, and to keep children and pets away from the work zone for safety.
