✨ Nowra Hospital Team Celebrates NAIDOC Week at Fun Day

The Shoalhaven Hospital Redevelopment team recently participated in the 2025 Shoalhaven NAIDOC Fun Day, held at the Nowra Showground. The team hosted a community stall to celebrate culture and connection to Country, while also providing updates on the future of healthcare in the region.

Community members were gifted native seedlings, mirroring those planned for the new hospital's landscaping. This initiative aimed to foster a stronger connection to the upcoming facility and highlight how local Aboriginal art and culture will be integrated into its design.

This year's NAIDOC Week theme, "The Next Generation: Strength, Vision & Legacy," aligns with the redevelopment's commitment to creating a hospital that truly reflects and respects the community it will serve.

With a $440 million investment from the NSW Government, the Shoalhaven Hospital Redevelopment is set to become a vital health hub for the region. The project will consolidate emergency, critical care, and other essential services locally, reducing the need for patient transfers to larger cities. The new Acute Services Building is expected to be completed in 2026.
