A 31-year-old man has been charged by police following a police pursuit that took place in Nowra and surrounding areas on Thursday, July 3, 2025. The incident began when officers attempted to stop a sedan at Hillcrest Avenue, South Nowra, due to reports of erratic driving on the Princes Highway.
When the driver failed to stop, a pursuit was initiated. During the chase through Nowra, the sedan was involved in two minor collisions with other vehicles, though thankfully, no injuries were reported. The pursuit continued until the vehicle crashed into a concrete median strip near the Nowra Bridge, resulting in deflated front tyres.
The vehicle was eventually stopped on Bolong Road, Shoalhaven Heads, after road spikes were deployed and a minor collision with a police vehicle occurred. The driver was arrested at the scene and taken to Nowra Police Station.
He has been charged with a string of offences, including driving recklessly, police pursuit not stopping, intentionally throwing an object at a vehicle, failing to provide particulars after a collision, using a mobile phone while driving, and stalking or intimidating with intent to cause fear. Bail was refused, and he is scheduled to appear before Parramatta Local Court on Friday, July 4, 2025.
