🏛️ Premier Minns to Host Community Cabinet in Tweed Heads
Tweed Heads is set to experience changed traffic conditions this Friday, July 11, 2025, as the community gathers for the annual 2025 NAIDOC Street March. Motorists and pedestrians in the central Tweed Heads area are advised to be aware of significant road closures and potential delays.
The march, a highlight of the NAIDOC program, is scheduled to commence at 10:00 AM from the corner of Brett Street and Wharf Street. Participants will then proceed, with the march expected to conclude around 11:30 AM at Chris Cunningham Park.
To accommodate the event, Wharf Street and Brett Street will be closed to all traffic from 9:00 AM and are expected to reopen by 1:00 PM. Transport for NSW and Tweed Shire Council advise the public to avoid the affected areas during these hours and to use alternative routes if travelling through Tweed Heads.
Drivers are encouraged to exercise caution and allow for extra travel time. The changed traffic conditions are classified as a planned incident, and local authorities will be on hand to manage the flow of traffic and ensure public safety.
Residents can find more information regarding the 2025 NAIDOC Program, including details about the march, by visiting the Aboriginal Land Council website.
